South Africa: Wildlife Conservation Program
Deep within the African bush, small teams will assist research scientists with critical conservation projects. Participants will also undertake field guide training, which includes learning the skills of wildlife identification and tracking. This unique African bush adventure is a great opportunity to experience Africa’s famous animals like leopards, elephants and wild dogs, while also learning about, and living in, their unique habitat.

Experience real life in the heart of the rainforest while you contribute to the development of its people, and support education, conservation, and health projects. Chile: Side by Side With Indigenous People
From deserts, to the ice fields and glaciers of “Patagonia”, to vast lakes, the Andes mountain range and fiery snow-capped volcanoes, Chile boasts a great variety of landscapes and a wealth of untouched wilderness. In the north, the driest desert in the world boasts some of the most incredible scenery on earth and has become one of Chile’s most visited tourist locations, with the oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama receiving many foreign visitors all year round. While local tour operators in San Pedro profit hugely from tourism, the majority of the local indigenous people in surrounding villages are still not benefitting from this activity. This program includes voluntary work with an indigenous community who are eager to protect their cultural and historical heritage, maintain and prevent the potential damage from tourism, and create the means to self-sustain their community, now and in the future.
Australia: Aborigines, Reef, and Rainforest
Delight in a tropical Australia that most visitors will never experience. This trip offers a learn by doing focus when you work and learn side-by-side with Australian students, conservationists, and scientists attempting to create awareness of, and rehabilitate, the region’s precious natural places. Meet iconic animals of Australia such as koalas, kookaburras and kangaroos – and help protect the Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef. Learn more about the traditions of the indigenous Yidinji people and fashion your own didgeridoo to take home. True Aussie culture comes alive when you stay overnight with local families, work in a garden patch with Aussie students, and hear the stories of the Dreamtime from our aboriginal friends.
