In just a week, you can help to vastly improve one family’s situation by volunteering on this short-term community project near Antigua, Guatemala. In an effort to improve the standard of living for indigenous communities, you will assist in building energy efficient stoves to help families below the poverty line. Indoor air pollution is responsible for more deaths each year than both Malaria and AIDS. A cleaner, more energy-efficient stove can add decades onto the life expectancy of a house’s occupants. You can also learn Spanish with 20 hours of one-on-one Spanish lessons and explore the area during a half-day adventure excursion of biking, rock climbing or hiking.
