Wiser World Travel also specializes in high school trips, whether for a senior class trip that may include volunteering for students or for a high school trip that includes a combination of activities at an affordable price.

Peggy Lichter, COE (Chief of Everything)

Peggy owned and was the CEO of a Colorado-based training firm for 17 years, which still provides national training services to both the private and public sectors. In a past life she co-owned and operated a retail food store, also selling natural baked goods to the precursor of what is now a national natural foods chain. Peggy lives in Boulder, Colorado with her spouse of 32 years and has two children. She (like most Boulderites!) enjoys hiking in the Rockies, practicing yoga, reading engrossing novels, and cooking ethnic food. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver.

The sale of my training company in 2006 allowed me the freedom to ponder how I might best use my experience to make a positive impact on people and environments around the world. A trip to New Zealand opened my eyes to the concept of responsible travel. Ultimately, frustration with my difficulty to verify sustainable tour operators and accommodations combined with the lack of standardized sustainable criteria in the travel industry sparked me to create Wiser World Travel, LLC.
